School Clubs Define You
At almost every high school there are certain clubs. The ones at our school are a combination of average clubs every school should have and a few random ones.
Newspaper, Yearbook, Math Club, Model U.N., Quiz Bowl, Science Club, Gun Club, Craft Club, Art Club, Theatre, Band (not really a "club" in my opinion but rather a lifestyle), Orchestra, Music Composition Club, various sports clubs, Asian Club, Caucasian Appreciation Club (just kidding about this one, but it has been tried), Environment Club, so on and SO FORTH.
But the one club I am obsessed with is ROBOTICS CLUB.
It's pretty fun, challenging, exciting, and worth-while.
But with every club comes the people that make the club worse. In my case, it's 4 people in the club who just insist on ruining everyone's aspirations, hopes, and fun. They want to do everything by themselves and don't realize that we are a team. Despite this and the lack of attractive guys, this club is ultra cool.
What I'm trying to get at is that in high school, you are defined by what club you participate in. Different clubs have different rivalries and during school, people tend to hang out with their fellow club members. Outside of school, people tend to still hang out with exclusively the people in the same club as them. And while it is great to develop strong bonds with comrades, make sure to experience all High School has to offer, not just what you're club has to offer.
What club are you in? Do you have friends outside of that club? Which clubs dominate your school?

I Feel Like a Kid Again!
Recently, I have been doing a lot of activities that make me feel like a kid again and really put me in a whimsical mood ~ which I really like.
1. Catching Grasshoppers

Not only does the act make me feel like a kid again, but it was a field trip, reminding me of the elementary school days spent outside of school at some neat place. Our class caught 100+ grasshoppers!
2. Doing Absolutely Nothing
Just sitting there, not worrying about anything.
3. Collecting Rocks on the Lake Shore:
Even slightly interesting rocks were kept and then proceeded to sit in the back of our car for days. It was fun to pick up rocks, fall into the mud, and be grossed out by dead fish.
4. Writing Haiku
Here's one I wrote:
Sea otters perform
Crowds clap readily for them
They eat and descend
Reminds me of grade school when we had to clap out syllables and remember how many syllables per line made a haiku. Then later we would learn that most traditional haiku are about nature, but we wouldn't care and would continue writing haiku about circus clowns and ice cream.
5. Playing Telephone/ Chinese Whisper/ Broken Telephone
You know, that game were "I like purple koalas" turns into "Go fly a kite" and everyone laughs.
Yup, so that's my list of activities that make me feel like a kid again.
Do you guys have any special things that make you feel whimsical, reminiscent, and youthful?

Trends
Let's take a detour from my crazy missions and take a look at some clothing and accessory trends that have made there way into the mainstream.
1. Plaid

I used to really like plaid. But now, I avoid it (just like I avoid stripes). There are soooo many more flattering options than plaid. I'd rather were a plain t-shirt than a plaid pattern these days. There's just too much of it. Plaid shirt are enough, why add plaid shoes and sneakers, it just makes your outfit look messy and crowded.
2. Cross-Body Bags

I love these!
They are soooo awesome! I especially like the rectangular ones that look kinda flat. They are just great day bags that look cooler than the over-sized bag you have to lug on your shoulders that make people look awkward. Thumbs upppp.
3. Ankle Boots
These boots usually have heals and are pretty cute. I like how they make you feel. They don't give you the same feeling as knee-high boots, but more of a feeling of dancing.... Yeah. I like them all and all. Just don't get carried away and purchase ugly ones like this:
EWWWWWW
4. Kimono Tops

okay so I made this one up.. kinda. But hey, it could catch on. Or at least kimono-cut tops that aren't as flashy as these. But I also think these are cool.
5. Jean Leggings

Leggings that look like jeans... genius. They are comfortable and if worn right look like jean jeans. Just do not wear them like normal jeans! Layer them under a dress, skirt, or an oversized T. No one wants to see your butt with that much detail that cares what you're wearing. -
First Mission Status: Failure
ok so that completely sucked.
I went to the mall and had zero luck! Ugh.
When walking in, I saw a whole group of cute asian guys but there was a asian girl with them (typical) so I decided not to approach them. Also, I was just starting out and felt shy so I didn't even talk to the cute guy sitting all by himself outside of Penny's. Woe is my life.
So I saw this cute guy at the food court and was about to go over to him and his friend when these 3 softball girls (short shorts, flashy sunglasses, spirit ribbons in their hair) sat down. The guys apparently knew them.... GRRRRR
So after that I saw some guys who either
1. already had a girl
2. were too old
3. or were to gross.
Just when I had enough balls courage all the hot asian guys like evaporated or some shit. I guess I'll have to try again when I don't have homework, more time, and more patience.
I did see a middle-aged couple, the woman was white and the guy was asian.
I saw my future.
